- GATHER social security number, parent’s e-mail/cell, complete home address, get a photo ID such as license or state ID.
- Get a calendar/agenda for the 2017-2018 school year and a binder/folder/flash drive folder/e-mail specifically for your college information.
- Make an ACT Web Account-Create account at www.actstudent.org before the state ACT test. You will receive your score online more quickly after the test.
- Know your academic information:

- Complete a scholarship search at www.cappex.com or one of the other free online
- Complete high school resume’ . See attached worksheet. TURN IN TO MRS. BAKER BY SPRING BREAK.
- VERY IMPORTANT-Have a realistic discussion with your parent/guardian about issues such as the financial demands of college, your academic record (ACT score, Grade point average) and the specific colleges, or military branch that interests you.
- Research 3-5 schools, become familiar with their websites and take campus visits as soon as possible. MAKE IT A PRIORITY TO VISIT CAMPUSES!! Start with in town schools such as U of Memphis, Christian Brothers, etc.
- Pick a variety of colleges
